Financial Literacy Educator

This is a contract position that will work to implement a financial literacy curriculum for battered women within residential and non-residential domestic violence service programs through the Treasure Valley.  The person in this position will report to the Women's and Children's Alliance, and in addition to serving their clients will serve clients of Advocates Against Family Violence in Caldwell, City Life of Emmett, Valley Crisis Center of Nampa, FACES of Boise and the Nampa Family Justice Center.

The ideal candidate for this position will be fluent in Spanish and English, have a bachelors degree in social sciences, be able to maintain strict confidentiality, experience in making presentations, knowledge of financial literacy concepts, and a good understanding of the fabric of oppression.  This candidate must also be able to maintain professional boundaries with clients at all times, communicate clearly and concisely and is able to work independently with little supervision.

The starting salary range for this part-time position is $15.00 - $20.00/hour.  The ability to maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet client needs is important.  Classes will most likely be taught during evening or weekend hours.  Meeting with clients will most likely need to occur around their work schedule, while interfacing with staff of the collaborating agencies will need to take place during normal business hours.
