Interested in hosting a WCA Donation Drive?
Excellent! You're in the right place to get everything you need to know how to host a successful donation drive.
A donation drive is an easy way for people who want to help the WCA and its clients by providing new goods and services we need every day. Whether it's batteries, infant fomula or garbage bags, when people make donations of these items, we can spend more of our cash from grants and donations on direct client services.
Follow These Easy Steps to a Successful Donation Drive
1. Check Out Our Wish Lists
These lists are updated every month and specify the most needed items in bold print.
2. Complete our Donation Drive Event Application.
If we have any suggestions about your donation, we can offer them before you get started. If someone else is holding a similar event, we can help connect you to make the drive more successful.

3. Build Your Team
Plan a donation drive with your family, friends, colleagues, classmates, neighbors or faith group members. Working in teams can help share the work, motivate members and make your drive even more successful.
4. Set a Date
Pick a date or a specific time period when you'll hold your drive. Make sure you build in enough time to prepare for your drive, promote it and give participants time to obtain and deliver the items they wish to contribute.
5. Pick a Location
Decide where you want to hold your donation drive or enlist several locations where people can drop off their donated items. Make sure there is plenty of space for collections bins and the items that you want to collect. Encourage your team to pick up items frequently so they are not damaged or stolen.
6. Promote Your Event
An important element to a successful drive will be making sure lots of people know about your donation drive so they can support it. Once we have reviewed your Donation Drive Event Application, we can provide you with customizable poster and collection bin templates to help spread the word. (Drive organizers will be responsible for printing and production costs of these items.)
7. Deliver to the WCA
Once you hold your drive and have collected all the items, please bring them to the WCA's administrative office at 720 W. Washington, at the corner of 8th and Washington streets. Our office will take donations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you have a very large delivery or your donation is sizeable, please contact Tami Fisher at 208-343-3688, ext. 41 or via email at tfisher@wcaboise.org.
