"Women Helping Women: A Centennial History of the Boise YWCA/WCA"
Through a detailed narrative and more than 180 photos, the WCA's newly released 144-page history book tells stories of empowerment, advocacy, independence, and female strength. Examining the role of the YWCA/WCA as the single most influential organization in Boise history to address the needs of Boise women, this time-intensive project was a labor of love for a committee of women whose research uncovered old artifacts, articles, letters, photos, and much more. As details of women's stories over the past 100 years began to emerge, historic events were organized chronologically, people in photographs were identified, and the story of the (Y)WCA was told.
