Love and care for others can be demonstrated in so many ways – and here at the WCA we get to witness so many of them!  The Warm Hearts, Toasty Toes sock drive is just one example.

Last month we were the recipients of over 500 socks; all sizes, colors and shapes intended for our clients.  These were part of 3,462 pairs of socks collected thanks to the efforts of Icon volunteers who teamed up with the Girls Scouts of Silver Sage to collect the socks on behalf of four local non-profits.sock drive

Most of us don’t give our socks a second thought – but if you don’t have any, particularly some nice warm socks during this cold weather – a pair of socks means a lot!  Altogether nearly 100 girls scouts participated along with 30 – 40 adult volunteers in this.  Other businesses that helped support the drive included: Boise Town Square Mall, Fred Meyer, Costco, Payette Brewing and Joe’s Crab Shack.
