Scripps logoWe are extremely grateful for the longtime support from The E.W. Scripps Company. With local radio stations 94.9 The River, 100.3 the X, J-105 and 107.1 K-HITS in the Scripps radio group and KIVI 6 On Your Side, the local ABC affiliate station – local media is the anchor of The E.W Scripps Company.

Last December’s Concert for Cause hosted by 94.9 The River featured the music of Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. The River radio hosts Tim Johnstone, Deb Courson, Ken Bass and auctioneer Kevin Troutt, along with WCA Executive Director Bea Black helped raise $37,000 through live and silent auctions items purchased by concert goers. It also included a special donation from The Knitting Factory from ticket sales.

“Building “community” is a core value of 94.9, the River and the three other stations in Boise’s Scripps radio group. We’re fortunate to work with a many valued partners across a range of disciplines, but none for whom we have greater respect and appreciation than the WCA,” said Dan McColly, Operations Manager with Scripps radio group.

All proceeds raised during this magical evening were used to provide direct services including safe shelter, counseling, court advocacy and other critical services for those in our community impacted by the trauma of domestic and/or sexual violence.

“As the weather turns, our attention will turn to the outdoors, to concerts and events and sun and celebrations. All the while, the WCA will remain focused on their mission; all day, every day. It’s for that reason we hope to continue to name them as the beneficiary from our annual ‘Concert for Cause’ event, and to do so as long as there are families yet to serve, and lives to rebuild. “

We thank the E.W. Scripps Company’s Treasure Valley radio divisions for always being there for us.
