Drama Class whole group photoIn January we received a very special donation from a group of students who are passionate about being the change in their community and engaging in conversations. We were able to talk to one of the student leaders about their donation. The WCA gives a huge thank you to the students of the Timberline Drama Club for demonstrating to us how we can all make a difference in our community.

Please describe your donation

Timberline Drama Club, better known as Drama Squad raised $400 in our annual fundraiser performance known as the Holiday Coffee House. A “coffee house” is an improvisation show in a coffee house-like setting that is completely run by the students.

How did you/your group come up with your donation idea?

Each year, Drama Squad organizes and runs a holiday fundraiser event to benefit an organization that helps the Boise community. Admission to the event is by donation. Every year we are surprised and thankful for the amount of money that people are willing to donate. It is a very heartwarming experience.

Why do you think giving back to the community is important?

It is always important to help. A community is made up of individuals and the community can only grow when all the individuals are willing to help each other to continue to thrive. Timberline’s Drama Squad wants to remain a part of the positive influence.

Why did you choose to support the WCA?

The WCA is vital in providing a safe haven for women and children needing help towards a better future for them. An organization that is part of the solution only deserves the recognition and our continued support.
