Citi Foundation awards the Women’s and Children’s Alliance a grant for $30,000 to support the Treasure Valley Economic Action Program

Boise, ID – The Citi Foundation has awarded the Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) a grant for $30,000 to support the Treasure Valley Economic Action Program (TVEAP) that provides financial literacy training.

The financial literacy course, a six-agency collaboration, provides individuals with empowering knowledge and skills that move domestic violence victims to survivors with the skills to create long-term financial stability for themselves and their families. More than 387 women have participated in the classes and 78 percent have graduated. Additionally, more than 125 individual financial coaching sessions have been held.

“We’re grateful for the Citi Foundation’s support in helping us provide our clients with empowering tools to enjoy the freedom that comes from having financial choices,” said Bev LaChance, WCA Deputy Director.

“We are proud to support the innovative work of the Treasure Valley Economic Action Program,” said Laura Cobb, Vice President, Public Relations at Citi Cards’ operation center in Meridian.  “Citi and the Citi Foundation believe financial literacy is at the core of building financial independence for individuals and families. This specialized program helps these women develop the critical skills and self-confidence needed to begin their journey towards economic stability.”
