ADA COUNTY PARAMEDICS AND WOMEN’S & CHILDREN’S ALLIANCE HONOR FIRST RESPONDERS
The“Power of One” breakfast program sponsored by Saint Alphonsus Hospital highlights the important role of first responders in our community.
BOISE, ID – The Ada County Paramedics and the Women’s & Children’s Alliance (WCA) will present the 3rd annual “Power of One” Breakfast September 16, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. in Saint Alphonsus Hospital’s McCleary Room to honor first responders of all types, including law enforcement,, paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs), firefighters, and emergency room personnel.
“The overarching theme draws on the power of people putting themselves in positions to positively impact someone’s life with no expectation of recognition or reward,” Ada County Paramedics Public Information Officer Hadley Mayes said. “Often just being truly present to patients during emergency encounters can make all the difference.”
All first responders are invited to attend and hear messages about the importance of what they do from their peers, community members and organizations like the WCA, who recognize the incredible contribution by these individuals
“The Power of One Breakfast honors first responders for making a difference in someone’s life during one of the bleakest moments we can imagine,” WCA Director Bea Black said. “Sometimes all it takes is someone’s presence or a hand on the shoulder to communicate that they matter and someone cares.”
