One of the things I’ve been wondering about is how we know what a healthy relationship looks like. We do our prevention work from this angle—teaching the aspects of a healthy relationship. But, we know that not everyone has healthy relationships modeled to them, and they may not know anything but unhealthy relationships.
We strive to help anyone who has been impacted by domestic abuse or sexual assault, regardless of gender. We know that men have unhealthy and abusive relationships as well, but may not feel their concerns or experiences will be taken seriously.
