023This month, we have been so grateful to the Boise State University Nonprofit Management 240 class for sending us a group of 8 volunteers to complete service learning hours. WCA representatives Megan Skinner, Diana Burrell, and Jennifer Spencer were invited to come and speak to their class among many other nonprofits in the Treasure Valley area. Some of these nonprofits included Boise Bicycle Project, Create Common Good, the Idaho Nonprofit Center, and the Idaho Horror Film Festival. The students could then choose with which nonprofit they would like to volunteer. Lucky for us, they chose the WCA!

The students each put in 10 volunteer hours, and they came to us at the perfect time! They were able to help us with all of the “behind the scenes” preparation for our annual Healing Begins with Hope Breakfast by making nametags, preparing table host packets, and helping with set up and tear down. They also were able to help us prepare over 1,000 tags of items for our Giving Tree this year. When they completed their hours, they gave a presentation to educate others in their class about our services. These events could not have been such a success if it weren’t for the help of our awesome volunteers. Thanks so much for all of your hard work this semester! This is #WhatCompassionAccomplishes.
