Denise and husband Mike Volunteer SpotlightThis month we are spotlighting Denise Hamel, a dedicated WCA volunteer who helps us with events, outreach and administration. She is also a major supporter on social media, which is greatly appreciated. The more people who engage with us, the more people we are able to reach with our services. We really “like” you too Denise!

Question: How long have you been volunteering at the WCA?

I have been volunteering at the WCA for 4 years. I started volunteering at events when needed. I also do a little outreach and volunteer at the front desk on Wednesday afternoons.

Q: How did you find out about the WCA?

I found out about the WCA while attending the annual “Concert for A Cause” when we first moved here.

Q: Why do you volunteer with the WCA?

I volunteer at the WCA because I think it is a wonderful organization that provides a much needed service for our community.

Q: What have you gotten most out of being a volunteer?

I have gotten so much from volunteering at the WCA. It has given me a sense of community, a broader knowledge of what the organization does, an appreciation for all the hard work the WCA does to help its clientele.

Q: What words or advice do you have for clients who are seeking our services?

For anyone seeking the services at the WCA I would say “do not be afraid to call”. There will be someone who can help you find a solution to your problem big or small.

Thank you for all your hard work over the years, Denise!
