What do you do in your volunteer role at the WCA?

I am an Ambassador for the WCA. My role has allowed me to grow in education and knowledge about what the WCA does and provides. I have been able to share this knowledge at volunteer and outreach events across the valley. I have also used this position to help in outreach inside my personal life, educating family, friends, co-workers and new people I meet.

How long have you been a volunteer?

I have been a volunteer since April of 2015

What do you find most rewarding about your service at the WCA?

The biggest reward has been the countless stories and “thank you’s” we receive while at an outreach event. We constantly have women, men and children come up to our booth and share with us what they have gone through, and how they have come out at a better place. It gives me goosebumps and chills, even makes me teary eyed to know just how much the WCA does for everyone that walks through their doors.

How have you changed or grown as a person through your service here?

Where can I even begin with this? Having only been involved for under a year, I have grown so much as a person and advocate for the WCA. The amount of knowledge, statistical facts and stories that have been shared with me is quite amazing. I love the people who I have had the pleasure getting to know and the ability to pass along information to those who need help. While I don’t always know if they make the call, or reach out to the WCA, knowing that I am able to share information with them is a huge blessing.
