Court Advocacy
The WCA provides assistance to petitioners seeking protection orders in Ada County. Trained advocates help with filling out petitions, provide an educational orientation, and offer support during the court process. Additional services include court accompaniment to civil or criminal proceedings and legal referrals. We take serious precautions to protect your confidentiality. Safety Planning Workshops
Clients can complete a personalized safety plan with trained WCA personnel. One hour workshops are available by appointment only. Please call 577-4498. This FREE educational service is open to the community.
Victim Attorney Services
The WCA Court Advocacy Program is seeking lawyers to volunteer as little as one hour of time to meet with victims of domestic violence to discuss legal proceedings, review paperwork, and/or receive guidance or coaching. Please call 343-3688 ext 20 for more information.

Domestic Violence Crime Prevention Act (Idaho Code section 39-6302)
This law was passed in 1988 to help victims seeking protection from enduring further violence. There are two conditions that must be met to obtain a protection order 1) there must be a domestic relationship between the parties 2) there must be a recent act or threat of physical violence, sexual violence or forced imprisonment.
Ada County Court: Domestic Violence
Website provides education on the cycle of violence, protection orders, no contact orders, and other helpful resources for victims of violence.
Idaho Self Help Center
Individuals can obtain some civil court documents including divorce, custody, protection orders and name changes. Many of these legal forms are also provided in an interactive format.
Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program
Services are available to low income individuals needing legal assistance for civil matters such as custody, divorce, modification of child custody and guardianship. Call 343-4510 or apply online.
Idaho State Bar Lawyer Referral Service
An Idaho State Bar public service, offering a $35 half-hour office consultation with a community attorney. Call 334-4500 or apply online.
