Every 88 seconds, someone in Idaho witnesses an incidence of domestic abuse. One in four women and one in 16 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetimes. The numbers are staggering and everyone pays a price.
But abuse and intimate partner violence are not confined to people’s homes, nor is it just an unfortunate aspect of their personal lives.
The effects of domestic abuse and intimate partner violence spill over into the workplace every day, affecting productivity, absenteeism and tardiness. The costs are staggering and may include higher insurance premiums and increased employee turnover.
The members of the Treasure Valley business community recognize the value of helping to create a community where people thrive in safe, healthy relationships and help support the WCA’s mission by becoming a Corporate Pillar.
The WCA Corporate Pillar program allows businesses access to the WCA’s resources for educational and clinical purposes for all of their employees. By becoming a Corporate Pillar, businesses are actively supporting efforts to educate employees about domestic violence and to get help for those employees in need of further assistance.
